Abstract
Objective:To analysis the facial nerve conduction studies in patients with facial paralysis,discuss the clinical value of it on early diagnosis and prognosis evaluation. Methods:The incubation period and amplitude of nerve conduction of both healthy and affected sides in 68 patients within a week were detected and compared,and all patients were followed up for 6 months, evaluated the facial nerve recovery. Results:All of the incubation period and amplitude of facial nerve in affected sides were declined, there were 2 patients with no motor conduction induced,showed pathological electric resting, there were a significiant difference in incubation period and amplitude between the healthy and affected sides(P0.05). After six months follow-up, 43 patients healed, 18 cases markedly improved,5 cases effective, and 2 cases ineffective, the total effective rate was 97.06%.Conclusion:The detection of facial nerve conduction studies can be used as one of the objective indexes for evaluation of facial nerve injury early, and can help determine the prognosis, which has important clinical value.
