Abstract
objective To investigate the expression of hypoxia-include factor 1α(HIF-1α)and vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)in cervical carcinoma and their correlation with angiogenesis and metastasis of cervical carcinma. Methods Expression of HIF-1αor VEGF was detected by immunostaining for cervical carcinoma. Results There was a positive correlation between HIF-1αand VEGF. MVD in HIF-1αor VEGF positive tumor tissues were significantly higher than those in negative tissues. Conclusion HIF-1α may play an important role in angiogenesis and tumor progression by regulating the expression of VEGF in cervical carcinoma and may play an important role for early diagnosis of cervical cancer.
