Jiang Zemin's Ideas on "Countryside, Agriculture & Farmers"

The problems of the countryside, agriculture farmers are the fundamental problems that determine the success of China's modernization constrction and its future development. President Jiang Zemin always pays special attention to these problems and his ideas on the solution of these problems serve as the theoretical basis of the stipulation of the policy about the countryside, agriculture farmers at the new period, and are of guiding significance to the construction of socialist cause with Chinese features. In this paper Jiang Zemin's ideas on countryside, agriculture farmers are discussed in five major content: role and position of countryside, agriculture farmers; countryside econony system reform; agricultural protection; developing agriculture with science, technology and education; agricultural sustainable development etc.
