Abstract
Usually there are no bus bar protection in 10kV bus bar of 110kV substation. Therefore, when short circuit fault in 10kV bus bar occurs, to remove the fault depends on standby protection at 10kV side of transformer. The set time of the protection has to be cooperated with that of outgoing_line overcurrent protection, then time_delay is over 2 seconds. So the time of removing fault is long, the equipment is badly damaged. Considering the facts of Yun Nan Province Diandong electric power network, the configuration and design of main transformer for the substation are discussed. A new operation mode and complete protection configuration scheme are brought forward.
