Abstract

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the therapeutic effect of the parecoxib sodium on medium to severe pain after total knee arthroplasty.METHODS Forty-five patients with total knee arthroplasty were enrolled into this group who received parecoxib sodium for analgesia 2 h before and within 3 d after surgery. The numeric rating scales, subjective satisfaction and relative adverse reactions were assessed.RESULTS Pain was relieved in all of the patients.Slight pain were reported in 39 patients and medium pain occurred in 6 patients. The subjective satisfaction was up to 86.67%.No severe adverse reaction was observed in these patients.CONCLUSION Parecoxib sodium is a meaningful agent for analgesia after total knee arthroplasty.
