The basic principles and method of DGGE technique,and its advantages over traditional methods were expounded,moreover,the application of DGGE technique in aquaculture and livestock breeding,environmental monitoring,food quality testing,etc.were summarized,finally,the application prospect of this technique in microbial field were introduced briefly.
