Probe into KMT's base areas in enemy's rear area during the Anti-Japanese War

In the early period of the Anti-Japanese War KMT set up many base areas in enemy's rear area.The main reasons for such a phenomenon were as follows:The Japanese army had no time to attend to the rear area;KMT conformed to the development of the trend of the whole nation's fighting Japan;The relations between CPC and KMT had become harmonious and KMT paid much attention to the base areas.However,most of the based areas did not hold on to the end of Anti-Japanese War,which was a result of KMT's not being able to be the leading centre of the Anti-Japanese War,its lacking the cohesive force of uniting the whole nation to fight Japan and the government of the base areas's being unstable.
