Abstract
During the Anti-Japanese War,Kuomintang not only fought in the battlefield but also carried out guerrilla war in the enemy's rear area, which to some degree contained the force of the enemy and coordinated the military operations in the battlefield. However, the class nature of Kuomintang resulted in its double characteristics: fighting against the Japanese army as well as the Communist Party. Moreover, the government did not mobilize the mass. All these limitations lead to the reduction of the effectiveness of the guerilla war and the gradual loss of the guerrilla area.
