Abstract

A simple and effective method was established to separate 3 major components of validamycin by ion exchange chromatography, these components were all important chemical intermediates for the preparation of N-substituted aminocyclitol which can be used to synthesize α-glucosidase inhibitor-a new type of antidiabet drug. A strong basic anion exchange resin was used as the absorbent and deionized water as the eluent, a self-designed eluent supply system was also applied to accomplish the procedure.
