Abstract

Metaphors are powerful cognitive tools.By meaning of introducing Metaphor’s cognitive functions and combining the characteristics of English vocabulary teaching,this paper tries to explore the great deal of enlightenment that the metaphor’s cognitive functions bring in English vocabulary teaching,so as to improve the ability to learn a foreign language to achieve proficiency.
