Abstract

Polymerization of silicone and acrylic acid is restricted by the difficulty of being emulsified caused by low surface energy and long chain molecule structure of silicone and siloxane respectively.A polyacrylate emulsion modified by silicone(silicone-acrylate emulsion) is prepared with sodium dodecyl sulfate(SDS) and OP-10 as emulsifier, acrylate and ethylene silicone oils as raw materials by means of continuous dripping. The polymerization technology is studied. The properties of this emulsion and its film are analyzed by IR and laser granularity analyzer. The results show that this synthesis technology is simple, economical and high yield. The emulsion has excellent properties and it is dimensional uniformity. And the emulsion film is transparent, good adhesion, and high water resistance(water absorption rate is 4.8%).
