Abstract
Strain N-1 able to use naphthalene as sole carbon source for growth was isolated from oil contaminated soil, and it was identified as Micrococcus sp. Its optimum growth conditions were 35 ℃ and pH 8.0. The effects of rotating speed, nitrogen source and concentration of trace elements on naphthalene degradation were investigated using HPLC. The result showed that 180 r min -1, NH_ 4NO_ 3 (1 000 mg L -1) and trace elements (0.1%) were the optimum conditions for naphthalene degradation. The degradation rate of naphthalene was studied with different concentrations of naphthalene. Fig 2, Ref 8
