Abstract

N-butyl acetate was synthesized by using ammonium ferric sulfate dodecahydrate as catalyst with microwave irradiation method. The influences of the power of microwave radiation, reaction time, mole ratio of glacial acetic acid to n-butanol,a mount of catalyst and the water diversion on esterfication were discussed and the optimum processing condition was found. The optimum condition of the synthesis of n-butyl acetate which was decided by single-factor experiments as fowllows: power of microwave radiation 240 W,radiation time15 min,the amount of catalyst 1.3 g;mole ratio of glacial acetic acid to n-butanol 1.2:1.0,and yield 82.3%.The method was distinguished for it's virtues: short time, mild condition, simple post-pressing and good for environment.
