On Advantages, Issues and Countermeasures of Economic Development in Wuling Minority Area--the Case of Tongren County

Wuling minority area strongly shares particularity in our regional economic development owing to its policies,location,resources and so on.At present five hot issues are: 1 the small sum of economy,lower income of average person,and the becoming larger and larger gap in developing;2 the unreasonable economic structure;3 the lower level of industrialization and the short of cornerstone industries;4 the absence of economic developing drive;5 the urging need of highly qualified labors.The wayout lies in developing economic industries with Chinese characteristic.Five countermeasures are:1 making sure of the major issues in developing character economic industries in Wuling minority area;2 strengthening regional economic cooperation so as to form the circle of character economic development in the area;3 energetically developing tourist industry,developing and protecting ethnic cultural resources;4 developing feature industries,leading enterprises,market circulation,technology and service;5 fostering S T talents in order to raise the quality of labors.The author takes Tongren as the case to explore the advantages,existing issues and put forward some countermeasures so as to improve the economic development in the area.
