The Investigation Report on the Problems of New Urbanization in Wuling Mountain Minority Area

New urbanization will be a powerful driving force for Chinese economic growth in the next few decades,and it will also be the historical opportunity to advance the development of minority area.This field research about the new urbanization of 6 counties in Wuling mountain minority area showed that the urbanization of this area has made considerable progress since the implementation of the reform and opening up and the local government's enthusiasm for pushing forward new urbanization is rising to unprecedented heights.Facing the new situation of the Four Modernizations,the new urbanization in Wuling mountain minority area has obvious constraints which mainly are the disorder and delay of town planning,the congenital deficiency of industrial development,the long and arduous task to inherit ethnic culture,the lack of construction funds,the policy imbalance and its low-lying land effect.According to those situations,this report proposes 5 suggestions for new urbanization in minority area:(1)giving full play to the policy advantage,eliminating the policy low-lying land effect as soon as possible;(2) energetically encouraging industrial driving,avoiding to paly EMPTY-CITY;(3) widening the investment channels,making every attempt to attract outside investment and talent;(4) featuring national characteristics,sticking to building cultural cities;(5) construction steps and models should be taken according to local conditions.
