Abstract

The stability analysis on the body of tailing dam has its particularity,as the property of tailing material is different from that of the normal soil. The ADINA finite-element software has its unique merit for analysis on the stability of rock-soil slope,i.e.non-linear analysis of structure,fluid-solid coupling calculation, etc.Based on ADINA software,an analysis is made on the stability of the body of a tailing dam with application of the strength reduction finite element method, and then distribution of the existing plastic zone of the dam body and the safety factor for the stability against sliding are obtained with the visually displayed calculated results. The relevant engineering case shows that the stability of the tailing dam can be effectively reflected with the application of the strength reduction finite element method to the stability analysis of the tailing dam.
