A Study of the Relationship between Burnout and Self -efficacy of Primary and Secondary School Teachers in Western China

Using General Self-Efficacy Scale and Teacher Burnout Inventory the author of this article conducted an investigation among 360 primary and secondary school teachers.The result shows that:(1)Primary and secondary school teachers generally show occupational burnout.In terms of depersonalization,male teachers are more serious than female teachers,and middle school teachers are more serious than primary school teachers.(2)Primary and secondary school teachers have a high sense of self-efficacy,with that of male teachers significantly higher than that of female teachers,that of head teachers significantly higher than that of ordinary teachers,and that of middle school teachers significantly higher than that of primary school teachers in.(3)Sense of achievement,depersonalization,gender,and the status of teachers directly predict the teachers’ self-efficacy.
