Abstract

The three-stage anaerobic/aerobic integrated baffled bioreactor was used for treating potato starch wastewater, and the treatment efficiency of this process was investigated using porous slags as carriers filled in aerobic pond. The results indicate that under the operation temperature of 25 to 35 ℃ and pH of 5.0 to 8.5,the COD and NH3-N concentrations in the effluent are equal to or less than 200 mg/L and about 10.8 mg/L when the COD and NH3-N concentrations in the influent are 1 400 to 3 000 mg/L and 15.0 to 24.0 mg/L respectively. The removal rates of COD and NH3-N are 90% to 96% and 42.7% to 53.0% respectively. The treatment efficiency of the aerobic pond is improved by adding the porous slag carriers.
