Abstract
Objective To investigate the effect of atorvastatin in the treatment of patients with cerebral infarction. Methods One hundred and fourteen patients with cerebral infarction were selected in the hospital from October 2009 to October 2011, who were randomly divided into two groups. Fifty-seven patients used conventional treatment as the control group. On the basis of routine treatment, 57 patients used atorvastatin (20 mg/time, 1 time/d, oral 14 d) in the treatment as the observation group. Course of treatment was two weeks. Clinical indicators and the scores of neurological deficit were compared between two groups after treatment. Results Hypersensitive C reactive protein levels, levels of matrix metalloproteinase-9, the scores of neurological deficit, recurrence rate in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group. Patient satisfaction in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group. The difference was statistically significant (P 0.05). Conclusion Atorvastatin in the treatment for patients with cerebral infarction has obvious curative effect, which not only can reduce inflammation in the body and improve atherosclerotic condition of patients, but also can improve the neurological function. That is worthy of clinical use.
