Discussion on the ideas in treatment of heart water based on the relationship among qi, blood and water

There is such a close relationship among qi, blood and water. They physiologically depend on each other for their existence and utilize each other. They inl uence on each other and have causality between each other in the pathological i eld. According to considering characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM), the pathogenesis and treatment of heart water are discussed based on the relationship among qi, blood and water, so as to provide guidance for clinical treatment based on syndrome dif erentiation. The mechanism of the disease can be summarized as dei ciency of pectoral qi is the base of pathology, and blood stasis is the results of the pathology, and phlegmatic l uid and water dampness are the central part of the pathology. The treatment of the disease can be based on the application of drugs for tonifying qi and warming yang, activating blood and resolving stasis, and inducing diuresis to alleviate edema. The course of heart water disease is lingering and the complex, and dynamic organic view must be used to weight the qi, blood and water in clinical practice, and the key of pathogenesis must be seized for syndrome dif erentiation and treatment.
