Abstract

Metaphor is a common figure of speech.In fact it is a way of coining words or a way of thinking,which can be considered as the intrinsic characteristics of human thinking and language,especially of literature.This paper aims to clarify and make a comparison and contrast of various concepts on metaphor in China and the West and interprets them from different perspectives.
