Rescue and Protect Xinjiang Plant Germplasm Resources and Develop Their Innovations and Utilize them with Reason

Plant germplasm resource is an important component of biodiversity and holds in store hidden important genes for improving crop varieties.It is the genetic resource for plant breeders to develop new cultivars. A great attention has been paid to plant germplasm resource collection,conservation,evaluation and utilization all over the world.Xinjiang is of a typical continental climate and extremely rich in plant resources. The distribution,research and utilization of plant germplasm resources in Xinjiang are summarized.Analyses of existing problems have been conducted and the necessity and the measures to protect the resources and developing their innovations with reason and relevant utilization work were also put forward in this paper.
