On How to Improve the Higher Vocational College Students'Reading Ability

Abstract
The cultivation of reading ability is a very important task in English learning. The paper expounds some strategies on how to improve the college students' reading ability. Through some examples the paper reveals that the reading ability of college students can be improved by consolidating English grammar knowledge, learning word-formation knowledge, rhetorical figures and cultural background knowledge. Meanwhile, the author emphasizes that the students should pay attention to the context and choice of proper reading methods while reading.
