An Analysis of BianGong's Literary Position and the Features of His Poetry

Among the four outstanding poets in Hong Zheng period of the Ming Dynasty,who enjoys a higher literary position is being disputed.However,the Bian Gong's eight-lined poems,especially the poems with five characters in a line,are highly praised,for they are well-versed in an emotional and placid manner.In addition,his poems about meditation on the past with seven characters in a line are poetic and profound.But the shortcomings of his poems lie in the limited scope in content and lack of sublimeness.
