Abstract

Objective: To research the HPLC fingerprint of Sophora flavescens Ait in order to provide a reliable method to evaluate the quality of Sophora flavescens effectively. Methods: The components of Sophora flavescens were separated on a Phenomenex Luna(2) C18 column(250 mm×4.6 mm,5 μm) with linear gradient elution using a mobile phase consisting of acetonitrile and 0.1% aqueous ammonia at a flow rate of 1.0 mL·min-1.The detection wavelength was set at 210 nm and the column temperature was 30 ℃.Results: The HPLC fingerprint was established by testing 12 batches of samples.Fourteen peaks were determined as the common peaks and four of them were identified as oxymartrine, oxysophocarpine, sophoridine and martrine. Conclusion: HPLC fingerprint shows good repeatability. It can be used as a mean to assess and control the quality of Sophora flavescens.
