Abstract

Objective To explore the effect of early rehabilitation on the recovery of the motor function, daily activities and congnitive function in the patients with cerebral infarction Methods A total of 50 patients with cerebral infarction were divided randomly into rehabilitation group (25 cases) receiving routine treatment of neuropathic and normal rehabilitation treatment, and control group (25 cases) only undergoing routine treatment The activities of daily living (ADL), motor and cognitive function were assessed with Barthel index, Fugl Meyer and MMSE assessment respectively before and 6 weeks after treatment Results After 6 weeks, the assessments indicated all patients were improved, with the improvement of ADL, motor function, directional ability, and memory function in rehabilitation group more significant than in control group ( P 0 01) Conclusion Treatment of early rehabilitation can improve the motor function, activities of daily lives and congnitive function evidently in the patients with cerebral infarction
