Abstract
Combined with the engineering condition, the general failure mode and failure mechanism of coating and cathodic protection system for the oil gas transmission pipeline as well as the axial position in the pipe where coating deteriorates frequently are analyzed. The cathodic shielding and stress corrosion cracking in the near neutral environment caused by coating deterioration are discussed.
