Abstract
Objective To assess the prevalence of hypertension and its risk factors in residents of Qingdao city.Methods6000 residents aged over 35 years old from six districts of Qingdao were randomly selected and their general conditions,life styles,behaviors,family histories were investigated,and physical check-ups and corresponding lab test were conducted.The data was analysed with SPSS15.0.ResultsThe prevalence rate of hypertension was 52.5% for all subjects with a higher rate in men(58.0%)than in women(49.0%,χ2=44.058,P0.001).The results of the Logistic regression showed that the age,smoking,drinking,family histories,overweight,hyperlipidemia were the risk factors of hypertension.ConclusionThe prevalence rate of hypertension in Qingdao city was high.There were many relative factors so general measures should be taken to reduce the prevalence of hypertension.
