Abstract

The paper reviews the basic mechanism of titanium dioxide photocatalytic oxidation.Expounding the research development of TiO2 photocatalytic oxidation in the degradation of organic pollutants, inorganic pollutants and tap water purification and landfill leachate treatment. And the outlook for this study was also made in this paper.Titanium dioxide has the characteristics of stability, difficult dissolved, innocuity, lowcost, and high catalyzed efficiency,so it has an advantage compared with traditional water treatment in degradation organic pollutant and light pollute water, which was significant in environment protection and utilization of solar energy. We can foresee photocatalytic oxidation will be a new and effective measure in the water treatment.
