Abstract
The paper reviews the basic mechanism of titanium dioxide photocatalytic oxidation, expounds the research development of TiO2 photocatalytic oxidation in the degradation of organic and inorganic pollutants, tap water purification and landfill leachate treatment, and makes an outlook for this study.Titanium dioxide is stable, difficult to be dissolved,innocuous,low-cost,and of high catalyzed efficiency,so it has advantages over traditional water treatment in degradation of organic pollutant and light pollute water.TiO2 photocatalytic oxidation is a promising technique of water treatment. It's significant in environment protection and solar energy utilization. We can foresee that photocatalytic oxidation will be a new and effective measure in the water treatment.
