Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To observe the effect of spironolactone on renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system(RAAS) and brain natriuretic peptide of patients with chronic heart failure.METHODS: 90 cases of chronic heart failure(cardiac function Ⅱ~Ⅳ) were randomly divided into 2 groups: control group and spironolactone group.Each group had 45 cases.Control group received routine treatment.Spironolactone group received spironolactone(20 mg,once a day for 6 months) based on control group.The RAAS activity,BNP,K+ and ALD was detected before treatment and 6 months after treatment.RESULTS: Compared with before treatment,PRA and AngⅡ had no significant change,but ALD was lowered significantly(P0.05).Compared with before treatment and control group after treatment,the BNP was lowered(P0.01).The serum potassium was increased,but showed no statistical difference(P0.05).CONCLUSION: Small-dose spironolactone shows protective effect on patients with chronic heart failure through antagonizing ALD and decreasing BNP,and can control RAAS and BNP effectively.
