On Su Shi's ”Composing Poems with Comments”

Abstract

Some people such as Yan Yu thought Su shi's ”composing poems with comments” lacked visual thinking, but I don't agree. ”Composing poems with comments” is not only his special feature, but also a great contribution to the theory of poetic creation. He made the Song dynasty poems different from Tang dynasty ones, influenced many people and composed many famous poems, which is a definite good contribution.
