Abstract
There is almost no usage of the suffix “ji” in Pu tonghua, but it is used very widely in Yangjiatan Dialect of Lianyuan City. The “ji”(唧)is used as not only the suffix of noun, but also the suffix of adjecti ve, numeral-classifier compound, verb, pronoun and adverb, etc. The functions o f the suffix “ji” is abundant, They lie in the following: word-formation; distinguishing the meanings of words; indicating smallness or quickness; making some certain quantity uncertain; easing mood; marking.
