A Research on Japan's Regional Cluster Policy from the Aspect of Interactions between Cluster and Regional Innovation

Abstract

Cluster is an important carrier of regional innovation system.It is an effective way to achieve regional innovation capability.The effective operation of regional innovation system will stimulate the development of industrial cluster and give it sustainable vitality.After Japanese economy experienced ten years of loss,the Japanese government proposed For Creating Innovation The Industrial Cluster Project(METI) and Knowledge cluster initiative(MEXT) respectively in 2001 and 2002,in order to prompt national competition capability and revive regional economy.Industrial cluster and knowledge cluster in the above mentioned policies are called regional cluster in Japan.The paper explains the interaction between cluster and regional innovation from the aspect of Japanese regional cluster policy.
