Abstract
Polypropylene(PP) has poor foamiability because of its low melt strength and high crystallinity. To obtain the fine microcellular foams,PP and polyethylene(PE) were blended and a small quantity of EPDM was added into PP/PE blend. The effects of EPDM content on the melt strength and microcellular structure of PP/PE/EPDM blend were investigated and their mechanism was analyzed in order to find a blend with high melt strength and good foamiability.
