Effect of three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy combined with chemotherapy on limited small cell lung cancer

Objective: To evaluate the effect of three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy(3DCRT) combined with chemotherapy on limited small cell lung cancer(LSSCLC).Methods: A total of 60 cases with LSSCLC were randomly divided into two groups: observation group and control group.Patients in observation group were treated by 3DCRT combined with chemotherapy,while patients in control group were treated by radiotherapy combined with chemotherapy.The efficacy and incidence of side effect were observed and compared.Results: There were 26 cases with complete remission(CR)(86.67%),and 3 cases with partial remission(PR)(10.00%) in observation group,and total effective rate was 96.67%;while in control group,there were 19 CR cases(63.33%) and 6 PR cases(20.00%),with total effective rate as 83.33%.The CR rate and total effective rate were significantly higher in observation group,and the difference was significant(P0.05).One-year survival rate and 2-year survival rate in observation group were significantly higher,and the difference was significant(P0.05).Response of lung and esophagus to radiation at 1+2 stage,advanced radiation-induced lung injury at 1+2 and 3 stage were slighter in observation group,and the difference was significant(P0.05).There was no patient with response of lung and esophagus at 3,4 stage,nor with advanced lung injury at 4 stage.And acute bone marrow suppression at 1+2,3,4 stage were similar in both groups(P 0.05).Conclusions: T3DCRT combined with chemotherapy is safe and effective on LSSCLC,with satisfactory effect both in short and long term.
