On Globalization and Chinese Modern Literature Research

The issues of globalization are mainly those of cultures. Cultural pluralism is a characteristic of contemporary global situation. For more than one century, Chinese intellects have been exploring the fate of Chinese culture. Chinese modern literature originated from Chinese national peril and the collision between Chinese culture and Western culture. The background of Chinese modern literature determined the close relationship between the research of modern literature and modern culture. Their minute representation and developing tendency are mainly concluded into two points: I. cultural criticism to literature; II. from literary research to cultural research.
