The Clinical Significance of Serum Tumer Markers CEA,CA19-9 and CA242 in Patients with Colorectal Cancer

Abstract

Objective To investigate the diagnostic value and clinical significance of serum tumer markers CEA,CA19-9 and CA242 in patients with colorectal cancer.Methods The serum levels of CEA,CA19-9 and CA242 were determined by chemiluminescence in 84 patients with colorectal cancer.Results The positive rates of CEA,CA19-9 and CA242 in combination was 69.0%,which was significantly higher than that of single marker(53.6%,30.9%,51.2% respectively,P0.01).In Dukes stages A,B,C and D,serum levels and sensitivity of the three tumor markers were significantly increased(P0.05～0.01).Conclusion The results suggested that determination of CEA,CA19-9 and CA242 are valuable for the diagnosis of colonic carcinoma and evaluation of patients conditions,and the positivevate can be enhanced by determination of serum CEA,CA19-9 and CA242 in combination.
