Studies on the River Ecosystem Health Assessment Methods

The concept of river ecosystem health is expatiated,and the assessment methods for river ecosystem health are discussed.Based on this,an index system for river ecological health is established,which considers hydrology,water quality,aquatic life,river structure and riverside zone.An assessment indexes and factor set based on AHP is established through no-dimensionization of the indexes and determination of the weight of the indexes.The comprehensive index for river ecosystem health assessment is derived as:P_i=∑ni=1r_i·w_i.The index system proposed is applied in the evaluation of the Hai River,and it is worked out that the ecosystem of the Hai River is unhealthy.
