Abstract
Echocardiography is an important technology for evaluation of right ventricular function. Some traditional technologies such as 2 - dimensional and frequency spectrum Doppler are not ideal for clinical evaluation of right ventricular function. With the rapid technological developments, tissue Doppler imaging, strain and strain rate, three real- time dimensional echocardiography are gradually applied to evaluate the right ventricular function. This article reviews the characteristics and application of these echocardiographic techniques used currently in evaluating right ventricular function.
