Abstract

A kinetic method for determination of trace molybdenum* based on its catalysis effect on the oxidation of berylliumⅢ(BLⅢ) by H_2O_2 in Britlon-Robinson buffer solution (pH 11.92) medium and hot water bath is established. The optimum conditions and the kinetic parameters are studied. The rate equation of reaction is found to be -dC_(BLⅢ)/dt=k···.The apparent activation energy and the apparent rate constant are E′=67.5 kJ·mol~(-1) and k′=2.1×10~(-3)s~(-1) respectively.Detection limit of this method is 0.35 μg/L for Mo*.The linear range of determination is 0.05-15 μg/L.The method has been used to determine trace molybdenum* in river water and green bean with satisfactory results.
