Abstract
Objective To explore the effects of the psychology of behavior therapy on quality of life in patients with irritable bowel syndrome(IBS).Methods Sixty patients with irritable bowel syndrome were randomly divided into control group and experimental group(n=30).Control group was treated with conventional drugs and experimental group was treated with conventional drugs and behavior therapy.Quality of life was investigated before and six weeks after experiment.Results All the patients completed the treatment and the questionnaire.Compared with control group(60%),the symptoms of abdominal pain,bloating,constipation,mucus ameliorated in experimental group were significantly improved(100%,P0.01).Conclusions Behavioral therapy can improve clinical symptoms and quality of life in patients with IBS.
