Abstract

Objective To explore whether abnormal brain activity exists in Parkinson disease(PD) patients during resting state by regional homogeneity(ReHo) approach.Methods fMRI images were obtained in resting state from 16 PD patients(PD group) and 12 healthy subjects(control group).ReHo approach was applied for fMRI data analysis,and correlation test was taken between ReHo of the changed brain regions and unified PD rating scale(UPDRS).Results ①PD patients showed changed ReHo of BOLD signal in resting brain.Decreased ReHo was found in right inferior parietal lobule,left cerebellum posterior lobe,left precuneus and right dorsolateral prefrontal cortex,while increased ReHo was detected over bilateral cerebellum anterior lobe,right inferior temporal gyrus,bilateral lentiform nucleus,bilateral thalamus,left caudate,right supplementary motor cortex and bilateral precentral gyrus.②Significant positive correlation between ReHo and UPDRS was noticed in several brain regions.Conclusion Abnormal brain activity of PD might exist in resting state.ReHo may be potentially helpful to exploring resting state brain activity in PD.
