Abstract
[Objective] The study was conducted to investigate the effect of La on the growth status and physiological property of Pisum sativum Seedlings under Cd stress.[Method] With Pisum sativum L.as tested material, the effects of La with different concentrations(0.05,0.1,0.2,0.4 and 0.8 mg/L) on seed germination, plant growth, peroxidases(POD) activity of P.sativum under the Cd stress with different concentrations(0.1,0.5,1.0,2.0, 5.0,10.0,20.0,40.0 and 80.0 mg/L) were studied.[Result] In seed germination, the La at 0.1 mg/L could better alleviate the poison of Cd and improve the germination rate of P.sativum seeds under Cd stress. In the growth of seedlings, the La at 0.05 mg/L could better alleviate the poison of Cd and promote the growth of seedling roots, but La only had detoxification on seedling growth under Cd stress with low concentration. When Cd and La concentration was all higher(80.0 mg/L and 0.8 mg/L,resp.),the La not only had no detoxification, but also cooperated with Cd to make the stress on seed germination and growth of root and stem of seedlings in P.sativum.POD activity and amount reached the most when La concentration was at 0.1 mg/L.[Conclusion] The alleviation effect of La at 0.1 mg/L on P.sativum seedlings under Cd stress with low concentration was very obvious, which could increase the germination rate of P.sativum seedlings, promote the growth of the root and stem, and strengthen the activity of POD.However, the La in high concentration could cooperate with Cd to aggravate the poisoning effect on P.sativum seedlings.
