Abstract
Nutrient solution culture experiment was conducted to study the effect of Cd 2+ treatment (0, 0.5,1. 0,5. 0,10. 0 mg/L) on plant growth and some physiological characteristics of rice (Oryza sativa L. ) seedlings. The results showed that Cd 2+ inhibited the increase of plant height and lowered dry matter weight of leaf and fresh weight of shoot. Low concentration of Cd 2+ (0~0.5 mg/L) treatment increased chlorophyll content though high concentration of Cd 2+ (10.0 mg/L) treatment could reduced it. Additionally, Cd 2+ treatment increased MDA content and POD activity, inhibited SOD and CAT activity in leaf.
