Abstract
Objective:To observe the effects of alanyl-glutamine(Aln-Gln) dipeptide on patients with sepsis intestinal permeability and stress response.Methods:Twenty-four patients were randomized into two groups according to APACHEⅡscore:the treatment group(intravenous administration of Aln-Gln dipeptide 40g/d for 7 days)n=12 and the control group(normal saline as placebo for 7 days)n=12.Serum concentrations of glutamine(Gln),diamine oxidase(DAO),urine lactulose/mannito(L/M),C reactive protein and SIRS,APACHEⅡscore, were measured before and after the treatmemt. Results:Serum Gln concentration was significantly decreased in the control group and increased in the treatment group in 7 days.Urine L/M ratio and serum concentrations of DAO was significantly decreased in treatment group compared with the control group and before the treatment.C reactive protein was significantly decreased in the treatment group.SIRS score was significantly decreased compared with that in the control group before treatment,APACHEⅡscore was improved after treatment, but there was no difference with the control group. Conclusion:Administration of Aln-Gln dipeptide can increase the level of serum Gln,decrease the intes-tinal permeability, attenuate the stress response in the patients with sepsis and improve the prognosis of the patients in sepsis.
