Abstract
The silicone modified acrylate emulsion was synthesized through the copolymerization reaction of γ-methacryloxypropylmethyldimethoxy silane (KH571) with acrylate monomers by adding the hydrolyzation inhibitor. The influences of the polymerization process, the ration of soft/hard segments, the content and ratio of emulsifiers, the amount of silicone, initiator and hydrolyzation inhibitor on the polymerization stability and performances of silicone-acrylate emulsion were discussed. The optimized synthesis parameters of the silicone-acrylate emulsion copolymerization were obtained. Furthermore, the latex particle structure was characterized by Fourier transform infrared.
