On Xie Zhen's Learning of Poetry

Xie Zhen's poems imitated those of the heyday of Tang Dynasty, of which the style was gained but deep feeling and far charm were lost. In Siming Poetry Talks, there were entries showing sensible argument but going against the emotion expression as peculiarity of poetry if they were being put in effect as the theory for guiding creation; there were also entries suitably analysing regular pattern of poetry and poets and pecms. In the change of poetry talks of Ming Dynasty from theory of craftsmanship to theory of asthetic appreciation, Xie Zhen's learning of poetry served as a link between past and future.
