The Ideas on Poetry in Notes on Poets and Poetry

Qing Dynasty was a period which Chinese traditional culture had made a great development. Especially the theory on poetry had become more systemic. ZHU Ting-zhen,lived in the late Qing Dynasty,had a low social status in his lifetime and lived in Yunnan province,so the academic circles didn’t pay attention on Xiao Yuan’s Notes on Poets and Poetry which was written by him. This paper strives to g regularize his theory on poetry and find its literary value by researching on the Xiao Yuan’s Notes on Poets and Poetry.
