Abstract
Objective To study the anti-virus effect of combination of ribavirin with kechuanping on respiratory syncytial virus(RSV)in vitro. Methods Cytopathic effect(CPE)of RSV to Hep-2 cells in different concentration of ribavirin, kechuanping and combination of ribavirin with kechuanping was observed. Results The minimum concentrations of ribavirin and kechuanping were respectively 7.8μg/ml and 13.75mg/ml for inhibiting completely the proliferation of RSV.When the combination of ribavirin with kechuanping was used, tthe concentrations were respectively decreased to 1.95μg/ml and 3.44mg/ml. Conclusion Both ribavirin and kechuanping showed anti-RSV effect in vitro, but the inhibitory effect of combined ribavirin and kechuanping was more potent than either of the preparation alone.
